Nicole Daisy Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Nicole Daisy is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified School Psychologist. She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology from Boston University She earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Adelphi University in 2005. She received postdoctoral advanced psychodynamic training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy from Adelphi University.
Dr. Daisy’s clinical specializations include complex trauma and addiction. She has received clinical training certifications in trauma informed treatment and evidenced based psychodynamic training, Mentalization Based Therapy and Regulation Focused Psychotherapy. Her research interests include child maltreatment and complex trauma. Dr. Daisy is the recipient of the American Psychological Foundation, Division 39 grant and received a supplemental grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse. She is a research award recipient from the Family Violence Conference and has been published for her work on interpersonal trauma in the Journal of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Psychotherapy and the Journal of Family Violence.
Dr. Daisy founded On Course Psychological Counseling, P.C.. in 2012 and is the clinical director. She is clinical faculty in the doctoral program at the Derner School of Psychology at Adelphi University. She is the director of the Derner Child & Family Center, through the Derner School of Psychology, which provides free therapy to marginalized communities.
Carolyn Abbott, LMHC
Mental Health Counselor
Ms. Abbott has been devoted to helping clients at this group practice since 2013. She specializes in anxiety and trauma and uses evidenced based treatment, specifically cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients learn coping skills to reduce symptoms and understand precipitating factors associated with them.
